Deanna Bates, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Deanna Bates was born and raised in the “Show Me” state of Missouri. There, she grew up riding horses and had an early introduction to the world of veterinary medicine working in her family’s veterinary clinic.

In 2019, she graduated from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Animal Science. During her time there, she was an active member of Delta Tau Alpha-Agricultural Honors Society and worked closely with the local United States Pony Club, mentoring horse men and women. Dr. Bates went on to attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine located in the Caribbean on the island of St. Kitts and Nevis. She served on Ross University’s SAVMA (Student American Veterinary Medical Association) Chapter as Parliamentarian. Dr. Bates finished her clinical rotations at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. There, she fell in love with North Carolina and all it has to offer.

Dr. Bates is excited to help grow the equine and large animal side of the practice with clinical interests in equine lameness and sports medicine, equine and small animal preventative health and wellness, and small animal internal medicine.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bates enjoys spending time with her senior dog, Amelia, watching Kansas City Chiefs football, going to concerts and festivals, tending to her plants, and catching up with friends.
