Since starting at Boulevard Animal Hospital in 2013, I have been able to learn so much about the different animals within Cleveland and surrounding counties. I am married to Ereck and we have 2 boys, Landon & Ian along with 1 dog, Bambi and 10 cows and growing each year. When not at the clinic working you can find me at the local ballfields or whereever my children are.

A native of Shelby, Dr. Richard C. Dixon began practicing medicine at Matthews Animal Clinic in Matthews, NC. In 1989, Dr. Dixon joined Boulevard Animal Hospital.
Dr. Dixon is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science & Masters Degree in Microbiology. He continued his education at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. He is devoted to his career and loves small animal work, but also has a passion for large animals. Dr. Dixon and his wife, Meda have two sons, Andrew and Charles. Recently, they gained a special daughter-in-law, Meredith Hayek that married Andrew in May 2015.

Dr. Emily Blanton received a BS in Biology at NCSU in 2000. She then graduated in 2005 from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2006, she completed a small animal internship at Coral Springs Animal Hospital in Coral Springs, Florida. Originally from Raleigh, NC, Dr. Blanton practiced for 5 years in North Miami Beach, Florida before moving to Shelby.

Dr. Blanton joined Boulevard Animal Hospital in May 2013. Her special interests include internal medicine and dermatology. Dr. Blanton enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh and her son James and daughter Ella.

Dr. Luke Martin is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he completed a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science in 2012 and then earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2016. He joined Boulevard Animal Hospital in June of 2016. 
Dr. Martin is originally from Cleveland County and has been actively involved with BAH since starting as a veterinary assistant here during his undergraduate studies. He enjoys working in all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a particular interest in large animal medicine and production and small animal surgery. At BAH he will be working both in the small animal clinic and on the road doing large animal calls. In his free time Dr. Martin enjoys working on his familys beef cattle farm, playing golf, and going on veterinary mission trips with Christian Veterinary Mission.

I have been with Boulevard Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant since 1989. I realized at a very young age that I have a special bond with animals. I knew that I always wanted to be a veterinary assistant. It's so rewarding to see a Veterinarian save an animals life. I have chihuahua's, a cat, and homing pigeons. They are my babies! My hobbies are my pets, flower gardening, photography, jigsaw puzzles, watching pro football, and just being with my family.

I have been working at Boulevard Animal Hospital since May 2000 as a Veterinary Assistant. I love working with all kinds of animals and it is a great place to work! My husband Chad and I have a beautiful daughter named Charlie, a golden retriever named Buster, and 6 horses. I enjoy helping my husband with his carriage horses, gardening, and spending time with my family especially in the mountains.

This is my first time working at an animal clinic and I love it! I am married to Tony and we have 5 children, 1 grandchild, 4 dogs and 4 cats. I'm also a huge NASCAR fan and my favorite driver is Jeff Gordon.
I began working at Boulevard in December 2016. I am working here to get experience and hours to hopefully become a veterinarian when I get older. I have two dogs, a cat, fourteen chickens, and a yellow naped Amazon parrot. In my free time I enjoy fishing and doing hands on things such as welding or working on my truck.
I started working at Boulevard Animal Hospital in January 2015. I recently graduated from Highland School of Technology. I am currently going to Gaston College to hopefully work my way towards going to Veterinary school. I have been blessed to work with such awesome people and learn so much about all kinds of animals. Working with animals has always been a passion of mine. I am very grateful to have a job doing what I love.
 I joined Boulevard Animal Hospital in May 2016 and I am married to my best friend, Nathan. I absolutely love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, helping my husband on the farm, and playing with my dogs. We recently just had our first child in November 2017, River who we absolutely adore! I have a red heeler, Duke…a bluetick mix, Dessie…a yorkie, Henry. I have 2 inside cats, Cowboy and Indian. I also have a mini pot belly pig, Birdy. I love animals and love being part of the Boulevard family.

I have been in animal healthcare since 2008. Ever since I was a little girl I have always had a passion for animals. I have 1 son, Andrew (Mac). I also have 3 dogs and 1 cat, Ruger, Rowdy, Gurtie and Nora. I love going to the park with my son and spending time with my family and my friends.

I grew up in Ohio on a dairy farm. I have always had such a love and passion for animals. I moved to Florida in 1998 and worked at the Humane Society and volunteered my time and skills and worked with saving animals after hurricane Katrina in 2005. I have several fur children - Stewart my lab, Kasey my Siamese mix. I am a proud mother of 3 wonderful children, Natalie, Allison and Jarrett. I enjoy hiking, camping and going to sports events. I am a huge Green Bay Packers fan, Cleveland Cavs, Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes fan and Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Chase Elliott are my favorite Nascar drivers.
I started working at Boulevard Animal Hospital in July 2017. I absolutely love working with animals. I recently got married to Luke Parker and we have 3 dogs - Ella, an Australian Shephard Blue Heeler mix, Diamond, a Rottweiler and Ruby a Beagle. We also have one cat named Chester. We both love animals and being outside. In my spare time, I enjoy taking our boat to the lake, fishing, flower gardening and camping. I am very grateful to work at this wonderful place with some wonderful people.

I began working at Boulevard in August 2018 and I am pursuing a Vet Tech degree and have had a love for animals since I was little! Working at Boulevard has given me lots of experience and there is never a dull moment.

I started at Boulevard Animal Hospital in January 2020. I have worked with large animals, specifically dairy cattle for 6 years. I have 2 boxers and show cattle. I have a bachelors's degree in Agricultural Science from NCSU and look forward to continuing my education with animals through my experience here at Boulevard.

I began working at Boulevard in May of 2019. I started working with animals my senior year of high school and soon realized that it was without a doubt my calling. I have a Golden Retriever named Royal and he is my side kick. I love being outside and spending time with my family and friends. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to work with animals and an amazing group of people!

Dr. Kristen Livengood is a graduate of NC State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Livengood grew up in Thomasville, NC, on her familys farm learning to care for horses, beef cattle, chickens, cats, and dogs. She is excited to join the Boulevard Animal Hospital family and will be working with both small and large animals.She has a cat ("Boone"), a Labrador Retriever ("River"), a Quarter Horse ("Chancellor"), and a small flock of very personable chickens (named after the characters of Downton Abbey). In her free time, she enjoys gardening, training and trail riding her horse, volunteering with the youth ministry of her home church, playing the piano, and salt water fishing along the beautiful coasts of North Carolina.

She is a graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinarian Medicine, Class of 2005. She received a Bachelors Degree in Biology from UNCC. Dr Bumgarner grew up in Kings Mountain on a small farm. She has 3 children that she is enjoying raising on the same farm. In her free time she enjoys riding horses with her daughters, having nerf wars with her son and riding motorcycles with her husband.
